"I just wish people would treat me like a grown woman. I may be a secretary, but I'm not incompetent."
Jon cringed as he heard his mother make a wish. But other than that, he felt nothing. He looked himself over, and he was still himself. That was certainly strange. Jon looked at Karyn.
"That's strange. Maybe this thing is broken," he said tugging at the pendant around his neck.
"So how was your day, Jon," his mother asked.
"Fine. You know how school is."
"School? What are you talking about, Jon?" You're a grown woman, why would you be at school? Oh, by the way, I borrowed your lipstick today, I hope you don't mind."
