The phone rang at 10:23. Sarah answered confidently.

"So Nadine, how was it?" She asked in a tone that expected a reluctant acceptance that she of course was right.

Nadine ignored the tone. " Do you know what you did with just that one wish? Like have you seen how much you've changed?"

"What? He didn't knock you up already did he?" Sarah asked, she had just assumed that was where this was headed because that's how she wanted to...punish isn't the right word, inflict, she wanted to inflict a life on Nadine that would teach her a lesson and Sarah assumed the end game of her wish would be Nadine regretfully reaping the consequences of a life of sinful indulgence that Nadine had spent so much time assuming everyone else was living with such annoying scorn and self righteousness.

"What? No, Jon's great, he's a perfect gentleman and we didn't get that far, yet." and then "but he is such a good kisser, I'm still a bit...Woof." That second part Nadine didn't mean to say it just came out.

"Oh. come on don't hold back." Sarah responded with sudden genuine interest.

"well he's started doing this thing, where he tells a lame joke that you told me I'm supposed to giggle at, and so I do, and then mid giggle he will just lay one on me real and deep and I don't know if it's the giggle that's working for him or what but tonight I found myself actually finding him funny or at least I was giggling a lot more, and I don't know if it was because he was funny or because I just wanted him to kiss me like that again.

"And did he?" Sarah was hooked.

"Oh yeah, it's amazing It's like he knows exactly how to kiss me, how to hold me..." Nadine trailed off for a second. "See that's what I'm talking about!"

"What?" Sarah responded confused.

"You made us into some sort of perfect couple! He was great to me and I was great to him, we had an amazing time. Hell he was supposed to have me home by 9:30 and you are the first person I called of course. Our kiss goodnight took 40 minutes!"

Sarah expected to feel disappointment at this but instead she felt a sort of prideful joy.

"Oh, and one last thing you changed, I don't know if you are my mentor or best friend, but we are way closer than we used to be, I haven't checked but yet but I wouldn't be shocked if I was on the team with you now."

"But I didn't wish for that" Sarah protested.

"Yeah but you did wish for me to call you and tell you how the date went and that's best friend behavior, and I never had you saved in my phone before, much less in my favorites."

Sarah looked at her phone, the contact information holding a cute photo of Nadine, something that wasn't in her phone before for sure.

"So what do you want me to do about it?" Sarah responded. She wasn't the problem here.

"Don't make anymore wishes, I think I should come over tomorrow and we should figure this all out." Sarah didn't like that idea.

"No, neutral location, the mall, but before people get there, like as soon as it opens tomorrow."

"But tomorrow's Sunday, I still have church."

"Your call, do what you like." Sarah said and hung up, figuring a little moral dilemma was in order.
