as the trigger was deppressed by karyn life slowed to a snails pace for the psycotic megalomaniac once known as sarah.
as the two slowly seperating projectiles of the shotgun made their way closer to her body, sarah had to admit karyn wasnt a bad shot. She looked closer at the direction to moving in idle fascination, where abouts would the one on the left hit her?
as she pondered this deadly puzzle she looked at the stone. it was growing colder, much colder. as if sensing sarahs encroaching doom.
she finally worked out where it would hit. at the center of the stone!
thats interesting she thought as time returned to its normal pace.
the bullets whizzed into their targets.
one scattered its payload into her abdommen promising a slower and more painful death.
the other hit the stone in the center, as predicted, and caused a slight flaw in its surface.
this flaw though barely comprehensible in its minisculeness, spread and split until cracks riddled its surface.
as these cracks met at the the othe side of the stone it began to glow.
it grew freezing to sarahs hand and she dropped it.
as it hit the floor the cracks shot out a bright light light that filled the room giving everyone the compulsion to look away.
and when they looked back it was gone.
this whole sequence took just over a second to take place.
sarah lay in a slowly growing pool of her own blood begging for someone to help her.
no one came.
they were too busy looking at what else had happened.
but what did the destruction of this cursed artifact cause to this already highly waroed world?
