In split moment decision Ember decided to solve the problem for good. She channeled full amount of her magical power and using her skills to their maximum bombarded the leech with quick, precise magical attacks that quickly cut it off from Zoe's soul and then destroyed it in few quick bursts. Ember had no time to be really careful about it, so the procedure itself caused immense pain to the girl, which she showed by screaming loudly while Ember was holding her and then fainting soon after Ember finished. Ember continued to use her magic even as girl went limp in her grasp, making sure that there was no parasite left and then fixing the worst of damage her blunt-force method did to the girl. Some scars from this whole ordeal would remain for quite some time and Ember could not predict how Zoe's personality would change because of it, but she was not in danger of being controlled anymore.
All this took but a few seconds, but the event already attracted attention as Ember could see lots of curious faces looking through school's windows and she could already see Linda running towards her with school's principal, nurse and Athena in tow. Ember quickly came up with explanation and plan of action as Linda rushed to her "Quickly, call 911. She seemed to have fainted after she experienced some kind of severe pain. She complained about headache just before her scream." she said to worried mother who quickly took out mobile phone to call ambulance. Meanwhile school's nurse knelt next to girl, checking her for any injuries "Her pulse is a bit erratic and she seems to have mild fever, though otherwise she seems fine. Still, calling 911 would probably be best." she said quickly as Linda ended the call, kneeling next to Zoe too. "Just what happened, Ember? God, is she going to be alright?" she was almost crying already. Ember sighed a bit "I don't know, she seemed fine one moment and the next... but she is strong girl. I am sure she will be fine. Ambulance is coming. She will be okay." Ember knew for a fact that doctors likely will not find anything wrong with a girl except general weakness of body which they probably will attribute to bad diet. She also knew that Zoe will act very differently then she wakes up, meaning that she will have to probably reveal magic to Linda and explain what really did happen. A bit ahead of schedule than she liked but Ember was capable of adjusting her plans on the fly.
Next minute or so was tense as principal just assured Linda that Zoe could take as much time off to get better as needed and returned with school's nurse to the building after ambulance arrived and took Ember, Linda and Zoe to nearest hospital.
With Jennifer, Karyn and Sarah
For the three friends the school day was weird so far. They weren't really bothered by anyone so far, but they got more than a few looks their way when everyone saw them walking as a group. Thankfully classes started soon enough and the three of them were too busy paying attention to teachers to really bother with everyone else. First lesson went without any trouble and both Jennifer and Karyn quickly left classroom to rejoin with Sarah who had different lesson in another classroom. They had some free time before next lesson started and thankfully they all had same lesson this time. So the three girls sat in the classroom's corner waiting for a class to start while chatting quietly.
"So, anyone bothered you so far Sarah?" Jennifer asked to which her friend shook her head. "Not really, though seems someone took picture of us and posted it on Facebook already. Our new friendship seems to be hottest topic in school so far. That and rumour about Wendy becoming cheerleader captain since I am planning to quit. Which reminds me that I should visit coach and make it official." she sighed "I honestly don't care about rumour mill, I am more worried about my father getting wind of this." she looked at Jennifer and Karyn "I have free period after this, what about you two?" Jennifer checked her schedule "Same. Think Karyn is free too?" she looked at her girlfriend who nodded while checking her phone, whistling. "Woah, there is already rumour about you being lesbian, Sarah. Seems Biff claimed that he never actually slept with you and that you payed him to pretend to be your boyfriend." Sarah groaned "Well, it is kinda true... I did use him to get away from my parents. Bah." she leaned back on her seat, seemingly thinking.
"You know... I really honestly don't care about talk in school. But since they are talking, maybe we should give them something to talk about?" Sarah said, with a bit of a smirk on her face. Jennifer and Karyn looked at each other and then at Sarah. "What do you have in mind?" Jennifer asked. Before Sarah could share a bell rang and girls had to go and sit into their seats as teacher arrived. Sarah mouthed 'Let's meet in library' to her friends and then took her seat as class started.
