Karyn picked herself up off the grass and looked back at her car, which was somehow parked perfectly in Jon's driveway. It was still the same old beater she'd learned to drive in. Looking through the driver's side window revealed nothing of the impossible shower which had just fondled her, just the ordinary seats and steering wheel you'd normally expect. She didn't dare open the door - even though she wished those hands had finished what they'd started.

Instead, sopping wet, confused, and horny, she went to the front door. Jon's bedroom, her bedroom, and even her car... this was some TARDIS level weirdness going on. She just hoped Jon's wishing rock could take care of this.

Jon's mother answered the door, "My goodness! Karyn, you're soaking wet. Did you get caught in the rain? Come in, come in! We've got to get you into something dry."

"Yeah... it's a long story," she said, closing the door behind her. They rounded the corner and Karyn stopped in her tracks when they got to the living room... because it wasn't a living room anymore. Instead, it was the most massive walk-in closet she'd ever seen. A woman's closet, bigger than the living room had been. Every wall was covered in shelves, racks, and drawers.

One side was stacked to the vaulted ceiling with shoes - all high heels, in every style possible. Rack after rack of dresses, gowns, and skirts. Instead of a sofa, a plush chaise lounge was in the middle of the room, beneath an ornate chandelier. Jon's dad was sitting on the chaise, watching a basketball game on a big-screen TV that sat next to a vanity table and mirror.

As Karyn tried to take it all in, Jon's mom returned with a terry cloth robe. "Go and put this on, I'll throw your wet clothes in the dryer and let Jon know you're here." The woman guided her to an attached changing room and left Karyn to change.

So was every room turning into something else now? Whose closet was this, anyway? It looked like it belonged to a millionaire or something. Yet Jon's parents were still basically using it as their living room. How were she and Jon the only ones noticing this strangeness? She tied the bathrobe tight and went back out... into the closet, just as Jon was coming down the stairs.

He gave a perplexed look at what Karyn was wearing, while she just shrugged her shoulders.

"Uh... Karyn, I think we should, uh... get working on that assignment!"

"Yes! Of course. Let's go!" she quickly followed her best friend upstairs.

Mrs. Madison scooped up the pile of wet clothes and carried them down the hallway and into the laundry room. How had that girl gotten so soaked, anyway? she wondered, as she maneuvered through the stacks of periodicals and past the card catalog. The washer and drier were in the corner, next to the librarian's desk. Linda tossed the load in to the drier and clicked it on with a whirr - the stern woman at the desk scowled over her reading glasses. Perhaps it was time to get a quieter model, Linda thought to herself, returning to the living room.

"You do far too much dear," her husband said from the chaise, his eyes still on the game.

"Oh Roger, hush. The poor girl could catch a cold!"

"She could have just borrowed an outfit from Jon's room! They're practically adults. You don't need to fuss over them."

Linda rolled her eyes and sighed, then went over to the vanity and sat down. She stared at her reflection for a moment, then picked up a hairbrush and started running it through her hair. A thought came to her mind, If your hair is done and you're wearing good shoes you can get away with anything. While she wasn't sure where it had come from, she had to admit it definitely made sense.

As she continued brushing, the basketball game cut to a commercial break. Roger stood up and walked up behind Linda. He admired her brushing her hair for a moment. She looked quite beautiful. He felt the briefest pang of jealousy, before he looked up at his own reflection and had a sudden upwell of pride.

A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls, he thought. He wondered where he'd heard that before? Like it was a famous quote or something. But it made sense. He saw an elegant pearl necklace hanging on a rack at the edge of the vanity. His eyes lit up and he smiled as he wrapped the strand around his neck and fastened it.

Meanwhile, upstairs...
