Jon had been lucky in one way that Sarah, or the Jen she was was now, had not been, his grandfather had left him a wishing stone and this was a major fortune, some would say greater than even everything Jen now had because what else on earth could get you all of those things or more? So the stone had to go elsewhere and it wasn't going to Sam, no, Sam would have to have it harder than that, he was doomed to mundanity, to bleak averageness. Still, the stone had to go somewhere, someone would be the lucky person with a dead grandfather and a strange inheritance. Jen didn't even notice the stone was gone, why would she, she had everything she needed, everything she could ever want, a person who is full doesn't look for more food.

Zoe's life had improved considerably as well, she didn't have the body improvements that Jen had, she still had the same mother and so she looked largely the same, but she now was a Zoe with money and power, so there was nothing to drive the angst of a goth and instead she was sort of like Lindsay Bluth from Arrested Development, an ineffectual wealthy activist with too much money who would proudly talk about her two moms and use that as her status rather than her actual real status she had as the daughter of the most powerful couple in the valley. Well meaning but insufferable in her way, while she was straight she would spend so much time being proud of her parents (and sister as she would later find out) that she wouldn't allow herself to realize her own sexuality to herself until well into her 20s, even though it was clear to everyone else since her mid teens. She was a strange inverse of her parents and siblings in this way, for the rest of them being LGBT was just who they were, not different from being female or rich or beautiful, but for some reason in Zoe's mind that was the thing which defined them as a family, and yet she wasn't a part of that aspect, which was the universes way of continuing to make her the oddball of the family, still a black sheep, just not a goth one. She was currently pursing a relationship with Athena Devires, who she had picked out not because she was particularly attracted to her, but because Athena was weird, into magic and all that stuff. Athena wasn't super into the idea, she was confidently bi sexual enough to sense when something was off, but also interested enough in the attentions of one of the most powerful people in the valley to go along with it for a while, still having that feeling that this was probably doomed. Athena would have been an interesting person to get the stone, she would probably have known what to do with it, could have flipped the whole world upside down with it, and that's exactly why the stone stayed far away from her.

Jay could have gotten the stone, but he would have shared it with Kyla and then she would have wished to be more like Jennifer, which would have made her a prettier cheerleader type maybe swapping her with Tiffany in terms of roles, saddling Jay with a nerdy but still horney Tiffany in Kyla's place, which would then make Jay wish for a reversal of fortunes, causing him to end up in a similar situation to Biff, except in this world Biff and Jen were not dating, Biff and Amber Levine were. And that would be it, a nerdy Biff and Tiffany and a jock Kyla and Jay. The stone was bored, so it didn't do that, this wasn't so much a reversal of fortunes as just swapping names on role players, at the end of the day there was still a nerd and a jock, and neither were better or worse off for it. By the end of it Biff and Tiffany and Jay and Kyla would have still ended up together, but while one would win the scholarship to MIT, the other would get scholarship to Alabama and really both were fairly well off just in different ways.

No, there was only one clear choice to get the stone, someone whose luck had been just as bad as Jon's was, someone who might wish for something interesting: Nadine Ferguson.
Nadine was a religious girl, and as such incredibly repressed and essentially scared of the world around her. The only place she felt safe was church, the only people she felt safe around were church people, and the only ideas she felt safe being around were biblical, set in stone, explained and exalted, church ideas. These were the perfect calm waters to toss a stone into.

Dear Nadine,

I'm sorry to have died, but I'm in a better place now, as my last wish please hold this stone in your hand and read this letter out loud. I've left to you this stone, which if you hold in your hand and say for example I wish I was three inches taller. well, you see what happens. You can put the stone down now. I've left it to you because I know you will be super careful with it, wishes can't be undone. I know you must have questions, let me assure you this stone is not of the devil, maybe it's from the rock that Moses hit with his staff to bring forth water, maybe it's a chip off the walls of Eden, no one knows anymore, but know this, knowing the stone and it's magic is a direct path to God, those who have used it well have become saints, and those who have used it poorly have not. I think you have the best chance of using it well. So do that, but be careful! Enjoy your extra height, you might want to wish up a new wardrobe.

Grandpa.
