Your study on mental changes makes me think of a write up I was doing out of curiousity of how many levels of "normalcy" a swap or change seen as normal or odd can have. Here is that list.

Swap normalcy levels

  1. unaware: sees their new gender and body as normal.

  2. unaware: thinks they still are in their old body and gender.

  3. unaware: thinks their new body is normal but thinks its different parts is normal for their their old gender. (as an individual, not for their gender as a whole)

  4. unaware: thinks their new body is normal but thinks its different parts is normal for their their old gender but they think everyone of their gender should be normal like them. Finding "normal" men or women odd and ones changed like them as normal.

Unaware: thinks one or more aspect of their new life is normal, but the normalcy is fragile and they can eventually realize something is off or wrong with their body

  1. Aware: adapts to their new gender an new life

  2. Aware: adapts to their new gender but not their new life.

  3. Aware: cannot adapt to their new gender and life, lives unhappy.

  4. Aware: tries their best to be their old gender and/or live their old life despite their new body.

  5. Aware: total freak out, cannot live with the changes, possibly leading to madness, suicide, turning to drink/drugs to escape, getting a sex change, etc.
