Could the Blue be changing their minds? I waited quietly to see what they would say. The Greens, while of a higher caste, were self interested. They had a large curiosity and wanted to be apart of these human tests. Even then, they tried to put one over on us by fusing with the Blues in order to dominate us and force us into complying. If this Blue was to change his mind, that would certainly be interesting. "If- and I mean if- I were to fuse with you, you would split us apart directly after. I wouldn't be able to stand it if my power was taken by a Black." they said. They looked uncertain. I looked at Pitch Beam. "You'd be the one to fuse with them. What do you think?" I asked. If the one in question did not consent, there would be no point. Pitch Beam crossed his arms. "I don't need a Blue to complete the tests. I did them all on my own merit and strength. Why should I be dragged down by a tepid Warrior. I will be by myself next time." they said. The Blue looked shocked. "Tepid!? Me!? Ridiculous! How dare you, a Black, say that! You don't need my strength?" Blue Ignis screamed. Pitch Beam just looked.
I watched as Blue Ignis stalked over to Pitch Beam. Pitch Beam held their ground as Blue Ignis pressed their chests together. "I could kill you right now, Black. We are at point-blank range. Even if you used all of your might, my energy would rip a hole through you." Blue Ignis growled. Pitch Beam was not having anything of this. "Then go ahead and do it. You need me. I am one of the ones called. Not you. I don't need you. If I die, you set all of the progress of the Staulirs back." they said. Onyx Blaze and I were watching in awe. Blue Ignis was nearly shaking in anger. We could see the the energy beam repeatedly charging and dispersing as he clenched and unclenched his fists. Eventually, Blue Ignis shoved Pitch Beam and said "I'll be here next time you get called down here. Don't make me regret lending you my power!" He then left. I was very impressed. Looking closely at Pitch Beam's chest, there were blisters beginning to form where the energy burned at his skin. The 4 of us went back to our room and stayed there until the next day came. We were all called down for more tests again.
We met the commanders on the training field for a quick address and then we were dismissed so we could go do it. Once we got down to the floor where the lounge was, the 3 of us slowed down so that we were able to slip into it and fuse with our partners. The Indigos, Reds and Yellows obviously were miffed. "What do you 3 think you're doing!?" Indigo Glint snapped at us. The others wanted an explanation, but we just ignored them and kept moving towards the coupling hallway. Once we got there, we saw that Dr. Wendy Greenblatt was joined by Dr. Ian Winchester. "Hmm." she hummed as she looked at us. "Void Flash, Pitch Beam and Onyx Blaze. You seem much bigger than last time we met." she stated. "We are." I said. She asked why. "That is top secret and classified." I stated. "We do not have time to press buttons that cannot be pushed." Dr. Ian said. Dr. Wendy sighed and said "I hope that we can exchange more information one day." We were given the same tests again. The UV radiator was more intense this time. The Indigos were in the position we were the day before. It felt nice.
The medical part of the tests were to hold a solar cell while the other things were going on. We also were given vison tests. A bunch of symbols were projected onto their wall. As time went on, we were told to say when we could not see it anymore. All of us were pretty much the same on eyesight. The next thing was to test our hearing. It was pretty easy. There was a ping noise and it got quieter and quieter over time. We all took them at the same time and we were about the same. When that was over, a guard came into the hallway to take the solar cells. Onyx Blaze and I had the same output as the Yellows. "Well. I think this was eye opening. Thank you for allowing me to sit in with you and run some more tests." Dr. Ian said. He then walked off. Dr. Wendy looked at him as he walked away. She was nervous as she looked over at us and said "This is a pretty good reaction from him. That man is the type who likes to see what patients can do first hand." She then stated "This is a word of advice: do not let him test you directly by himself. He's overzealous. Also, don't show up bigger than Void Flash."
