Sarah pulled into the driveway and got out of her car and hurried inside, finding Jon on the couch. curled up, and sat down next to him.

"I came as soon as you called," Sarah said. "Where were they?"

"Well," Jon said, voice shifting subtly upward. "When I came home and opened the door there was this stranger stumbling around...I think she was drunk or on drugs or something. Then I heard voices in the kitchen, and there were two more of them...having breakfast."

Sarah stroked Jon's hair comfortingly. "I'll call a locksmith. We'll have the locks changed just in case. Maybe get some security locks for the windows. I'm just thankful no one got hurt and that everyone else was out when this happened. What did the police say?"

"I...stopped calling them when they left, and called you instead."

Sarah looked at her, sternly. "Well, you should file a report. I don't want to scare the others," she said. "Let's get this done now, and maybe they'll never have to know."

Jon took a breath. "You're right, of course. I just was panicking."

"Do you know who the fuck that was?" Laura said, then gasped, covering her mouth.

"What's wrong with you?" Nadine said. "And...what are you wearing?"

Laura felt dizzy, looking down at herself and seeing how she was dressed. "There's nothing wrong with how I'm dressed," she insisted, suddenly growing angry. "Why don't you mind your own business? This was a mistake. I never should have come to see you. I have to go anyway."

She turned to leave, but Nadine insisted on following her.
