Going that far to track them down meant Limerick Jill was getting desperate to clean up her mess. I just sighed and said "I want nothing to do with you. I don't like you. I'll never like you. Give my squire back, or kill him. I don't care. I can replace him at will. What I won't do, is anything that you or anyone else thinks they can tell me to do." It was non-negotiable. Trois was pretty upset at that. He threw the squire at my horse's feet and he glared. "You are the one that is sheltering my targets. Give them to me so I can go." he told me. I looked at him and cleaned my ear. "What are you saying? There is nothing to convince me to do that. Even if you had a bribe, I still do not like you. Give up and go home already." I told him. He stormed off in a huff and we retrieved the squire. I knew that we had not seem the last of him. I gathered together all of the living Protectors- Black Ops. I informed them of the danger and told them that they were not to leave until it was confirmed Trois was gone. They did not like it, but I told them that it was for their own good. It was only when he came to the fort did I get scared.
Even if he actually wanted to join without an ulterior motive, it would still be too risky. I denied him and he looked shocked. "This makes no sense, sir! I am the strongest warrior in this whole country. How can you say no!?" he demanded as he balled his fists. "You still have not killed the king and renounced your master. I know you're lying about wanting to join. I also know you want to kill your targets." Trois bit his lip. "Fine! Name your price. What do you want so I can kill them." "I already told you. I want you to renounce your master and kill the king." I repeated. He screamed in frustration. He then drew his sword. "I can't hold back anymore. I'll make you yield and accept me, even if I have to use force!" He then charged me. I was not ready for a fight with him. Trois was a bit sloppy now that he was upset, but he could still kill me with one hit if he wanted to. I did my best to dodge his attacks. He did not give me any opportunity to attack. Eventually, I decided that I was going to have to flee. The Black Ops members were not in the for we were currently in, so they would be safe. I ran out of the office.
Finding a door to the outside was easy. So was jumping off the balcony and taking to the air. I flew away and he had no way to keep up with me. There was no time to waste. I had to keep them with me and I needed to send all of them out of Sandario. Trois would have to give up eventually. I made my way to the fort with the Black Ops members inside. I took Alpha, Beta, Epsilon, Zeta and Eta in my party. They were surprised to see me. "This is really nothing new." I told them. I then arraigned a strong party of Theta, Iota, Kappa and three knights to go take some bandit forts in Humora and hold them in the name of the order. I immediately promoted Chien, Chat, Leon and Abel to the rank of Masters. That now meant that Guy, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, and Kappa were the Templars of the order. It also meant Alpha, Beta and Epsilon were now Standard Bearers. Our new Masters had long since lost their old uniforms and wore the new ones with pride. I was sure they could blend in enough to hide from the nosy Omega Warrior. Trois might not even know the four were still alive. I hoped not at least.
We all left immediately. I was going to take them and bring them to the shrine. Trois and the other Omega Warriors would not be able to touch them there. Not without causing even more of a scandal, that is. That really was the one thing that she could not afford. I heard that she had finally managed to purge the island of Devils, but at great cost to herself and to the island. Parts of it were destroyed and over half of the civilian NPCs had been killed in the many conflicts and battles. She had finally struck gold with the Omega Warriors. That must have been why she was confident enough to let one go to track down the traitors. That was no longer my concern. Once we crossed into Humora, Theta's party went split apart from us. We continued down into Sacrilmon on our own. We then made our way to the grand shrine. As we approached the steps, Snowflake and Hopper were at the bottom of the shrine. They looked surprised when they saw me. "Run away Canan!" Hopper said. "He will kill you! I don't want that." Snowflake added. I groaned loudly. "Is Cocoa still that angry with me?"
