"Dad?"

"Oh, hi Jon. How was school?" His voice was softer, higher. But what Jon really noticed was the hair. It was down to his chin, and a sandy brown color instead of its usual black. When Roger turned to face his son, Jon felt a twinge of panic. He looked... smaller. His arms, once somewhat buff, were lithe and slender. His dress shirt looked much more flimsy than Jon had remembered from the morning, and he had unbuttoned it- revealing an unusually clingy undershirt. His pants looked about the same, but the jewelry, hair, and shirt were enough to tell Jon that something serious was going on.

"Well?" Roger asked, "Are you going to say hi to your old man, or are you just going to stare?" He put a hand on his hip, a decidedly feminine motion that Jon had never seen from his father.

"H-hi... dad," Jon stammered. He then noticed his sister on the couch. He'd seen her when he came in, but had been a bit distracted. He got a better look though, and noticed even more oddness. Her hair was no longer the pitch black it had once been. Jon looked at Karyn. Her eyes were as wide as his.

"You OK, son?"

"Dad, do you feel alright?"

"Well, now that you mention it, my allergies have been acting up. But other than that, I feel perfectly fine."

"Wehavetogostudy!" Karyn blurted out, then grabbed Jon's arm and dragged him upstairs to his room.

"What the hell is that, Jon!" she said, trying to keep her voice down.

"I don't know. Something to do with my wish, probably!"

"But what's happening to your dad? And your sister?"

"I don't know." He grabbed the rock from its hiding place. "But I can find out. I wish I knew what was happening to my dad and sister."

Jon's face twisted in confusion.

"Well? What's happening!?" Karyn asked.

"Something interesting, it told me."

"That's it?"

"I guess a vague wish means vague answers." At that moment, they heard two fairly loud sneezes come from downstairs. But Jon and Karyn had bigger things on their mind.

"So can you wish them back to normal?"

"I don't know. Maybe we should figure out exactly what's going on before we try to wish our way out of this. Something weird is going on."

"You're right we- ah- ah- AH-CHOO"

"Bless you," Jon said.

"Thanks. As I was saying, maybe we should go downstairs and check things out a bit more. You still have the stone at least. Besides, your dad was wearing some cute earrings."

"Okay let's... wait, what?"
