The flash dissipated and Jon found himself staring at... himself?!
"Whoa," said Jon, now in Karyn's body.
"Whoa indeed," said Karyn, looking down at the gun now in her new, male hand, "This is reversible, right?"
"Yep!" smiled the female Jon, pointing to the device, which was now blinking with a numeric code, "Once it makes a random transformation, it remembers it."
Jon stepped over and took the gun and pointed out the feature to Karyn.
"So know we just access that file," (s)he added, pulling the trigger on her/himself and then blasting Karyn, "And we're back to normal!"
"Whoa again!" said Karyn, back in her old body and now holding the gun.
"So we can swap bodies again if we wanted by accessing that sequence," said Jon.
"Or we can try something else random!" said Karyn, eager to again play with the device.
Turning the numbers back to the random setting, Karyn fired at her own body, but, when she leveled the device at John, something went a little wrong. Jon, surprised to suddenly go another round, instinctively ducked, causing the blast to strike one of Jon's shelves.
Karyn's face held a shocked look as a wave came over her and her body went numb, solidifying into hard plastic. Frozen in place, Karyn now had articulated joints all over body . Jon approached her in horror to examine her body, apparently now held together with a gigantic rubber band. Even her clothes had transformed into shiny plastic.
Before he could even process what had happened, he turned to see the shelf and a pile of old G.I. Joe toys he had a kid carelessly discarded there. On top of the pile was a tiny flesh and blood redhead with a crossbow pointed in his direction.
