What Lebron failed to take into consideration, of course, were the side effects of his wish for Nadine to turn into a black "ghetto" girl. Reality was slowly changing around her and by the end of the school day, she'd be a total black sista from the hood, as he had put it. But she wasn't the only one to change from that wish. Her parents were good Baptists and would never live in the same house as a foul-mouthed sexual being like what Nadine would ultimately become. So at that very moment, not only were Nadine's possessions changing, but her parents were changing too, to fit the new reality that was being created.
But what would her parents become? Would they become black, like the final form of Nadine, thus still being her real parents? Or would they simply have a mental change and become the type of white folks who would "adopt" a person like the new Nadine?
