"Mrs Miller, are you feeling alright? I just put the suit on, like everyone else, so now it entirely looks like I'm pregnant until 3:15. Just ask the other girls, some of them have already gone through it."
"Joan, don't lie to me like that. You're not a good liar."
"Mrs Miller, I'm not lying [author's note: technically, she's not, given the changes to reality; after all, it's always been that way]. Ask any of the other girls. Heck, ask several of them separately, where they can't hear one another. They'll still tell you the same thing. Or even ask one of the other teachers, if you don't trust us."
"Alright, miss. You go sit at your desk."
Joan walked back in, and sat at her desk, while Mrs Miller asked all the students to read quietly from their textbooks for a minute while she walked next door. "And if anyone isn't in their seat when I get back, you'll have detention this afternoon."
