"Well do you remember when you wished that the pregnancy suit would really simulate pregnancy," asked Joan hesitantly. She knew that she was in a situation where she would have to reveal the stone's power to her teacher, but she was still terrified to do so. After all, she didn't know how Mrs. Miller might respond to having such a powerful object in her possession. She might be terrified of it and wish it to the center of the Earth, or she might wish that Joan would forget all about the stone so that she could keep it for herself and live out a life of luxury in the Bahamas.

"Yes," responded Mrs. Miller, still with a puzzled look on her face even though she had a feeling where this was going.

"Do you remember that bright flash of light right after you said that and did you feel the stone grow warm when it happened?"

"Yes. Joan are you insinuating that the trinket you dropped is...magical in some way?"

"I'm not insinuating anything," said Joan with a stern tone, or at least as stern as a pregnant sixteen-year-old girl can sound. "I'm telling you that the stone granted your wish. I really am wearing that pregnancy suit, it turned into flesh and blood the moment I strapped it on so that it would mimic a real pregnancy. That's why I've gained weight and displayed other symptoms of being pregnant, the suit is making me go through all of this so that it can be a better simulation of real pregnancy."

"So that stone can grant wishes? I find that hard to believe, but I suppose magic is the only way to explain such a thing. Is their a limit to how many wishes the stone can grant? What are the limits to it's power?" Mrs. Miller was visibly interested in what the stone's power's were.

Joan knew that she could either be totally truthful with her or con her to keep her from possibly keeping the rock and using it for her own personal gain. It all depended on how much she trusted Mrs. Miller.
