When school finally ended, Joan left as soon as she could. Heading out to the bus stop, she rubbed at the bracelet through her sleeve. It was a miracle that she felt no discomfort from having it on for almost two days straight. Still, it had already caused its fair share of problems. Thankfully, today was not a PE day, but she was already dreading cheerleading practice tomorrow morning.
She could only hope Athena's contact would be able to get the bracelet off. With that obstacle out of the way, it would be a simple matter of using the stone to wish herself back into Jon. Then, she could say goodbye to all this trouble.
Let's not forget to visit Urma one last time.
Joan stopped in her tracks. The thought had come to her unbidden. Although, the idea did seem reasonable. After all, Urma was probably worried sick after seeing her collapse and disappearance. Would it be too much to reassure the mermaid that she was still alive? Perhaps, Nicole would like to get a glimpse of Alorda, too.
She shook her head, setting the subject aside for a moment. Getting the stone came first. Then, she would consider her options.
