Jon scowled, caught the stone, and ran off to the restroom. Instinctively he started pushing open the door to the men's restroom, but then realized he'd probably better choose the women's restroom instead. He needed a little privacy and didn't want to have anyone fiddling with his wishes.
Jon opened the door to the toilet, pulled down his skirt and panties, and sat. He ran throught he wishes in his (her) head, hoping he had remembered them well enough that he could reverse them.
"I wish that I be a student of age 16, that Coach Jefferson be coach again without anyone remembering that he vanished, and that the reason he has no authority over me right now is it's his day off and the substitute has authority until he comes back tomorrow."
And Jon felt himself--herself?--shrink a bit. One down.
Jon knew how to fix the next problem, the one about wearing skirts all the time. All he needed was a name. Jon pondered various female names in his head--Jonnie, Jan, Jen, Jane, Joan, Joanna--but the idea seemed very cliched. On the other hand, if his name was similar, he'd be less likely to accidentally ignore it. Finally he made his wish: "I wish that when Nicole wanted 'you' to wear skirts, it meant me as Jon, and that I'm not Jon but Jeanne so the wish has no effect. I wish I'm wearing jeans now instead of a skirt, as a test."
The jeans appeared instantly, in a pulled-down position--two down.
Which left three wishes to reverse--wearing skirts if she ever becomes Jon again, making skirts not be unusual, and being stuck as a girl for a week. Unfortunately, Jeanne's brain was stretched to the limit already and she had absolutely no idea how to get rid of those wishes.
Well, not exactly. There was one way to get rid of the wish about being a girl for a week--live a week as a girl.
There was really no need to fix the other two wishes immediately--Jeanne couldn't do anything until a week had passed, anyway. She got up and returned to what she assumed was her class--gym.
She was met by Nicole leaving the gym. "Jeanne, cheerleading practice is over!" said the brunette. "The substitute had to go, so he let us leave." Which made Jeanne unhappy when she realized she was now a cheerleader, but happier because at least she didn't have to do it. Until, that is, Jeanne remembered the evening's upcoming football game. Jeanne the cheerleader would have to participate!
Come to think of it, no she didn't. She still had the stone. "I wish I wasn't a cheerleader in tonight's football game."
And with that, Jeanne felt the usual feeling that she couldn't look directly at what changed, but when she blinked she was nearly bowled over by Nicole walking into her from behind. "Jeanne?" asked Nicole. "You okay?"
"Sure, I'm fine" replied Jeanne.
"We'd better get going to the field then" said Nicole. Jeanne looked around and realized that she was with the cheerleaders and everyone, including herself, was wearing a uniform and carrying pom-poms. Nicole grumbled, "Just because the lights are broken and they can't play tonight, they cancel half the school day and hold the football game in the morning. Whoever heard of such a silly thing?"
Jeanne realized that all the cheerleaders were walking onto the football field and the stadium was full of people....
