As the month passed, not much out of the ordinary happened. Ashley's grades did mysteriously start to rise, but thanks to Jon's wish, his own grades didn't fall. Other than that, the only thing out of the ordinary was Jon as Ashley's boyfriend. He was the type of boy who a girl like Ashley would have gotten along with when they interacted, but who she would never have given a chance to be more than a distant acquaintance, so nobody understood why they would be together. Anyone who paid enough attention to know Jon existed would have expected him to end up with Karyn, and everyone who did pay attention didn't understand why Ashley would suddenly break up with Ron.
Some less noticeable changes had taken place over the month, and at first glance, one wouldn't expect them to carry the consequences they did. See, Jon and Ashley were getting used to their new lives, and Jon experienced this in a much more extreme way. Only on the last night of his month sentence did Jon even realize it - he didn't want to go back to being Jon. He retrieved the rock from its hiding place in Ashley's room and started to make a wish when he realized that he didn't want it to seem like his idea. After a couple minutes, he was satisfied with his plan to blame it on someone else and made his wish.
"I wish that when the month for which I am stuck in Ashley's body is over, another wish must be made to return Ashley and I to our own bodies. I also wish that when someone other than me tries to make this wish to return us to our own boddies, they will first accidentally make the wish that Ashley and I will be stuck in each others bodies for the rest of our lives. Next, I wish that after Ashley and I are permenantly stuck in each others bodies, nobody other than me will be able to find a loophole wish to return us to our own bodies, and that the wishing stone will know me in Ashley's body as Ashley, and Ashley in my old body as Jon for the purposes of all wishes made after the wish trapping us in each others bodies, until a loophole wish is made to undo these circumstances. And I wish that Ashley will remain my boyfriend until one of us decides to end the relationship, and that even then, she will remain close friends with me and Karyn. Lastly, I wish that if I ever decide that I want to return to my old body, that I will be able to easily find a loophole wish with no remaining ill efects that will allow this to happen, and after I make this loophole wish, the stone will return to knowing me in my own body as Jon and Ashley in her own body as Ashley for all wishing purposes." Satisfied that she had covered everything, Ashley got into bed and somehow managed to get to sleep through the excitement of what the next day would bring.
