Once all the preliminaries that Jon didn't understand were over, the game really was pretty interesting. Karyn played fabulously. But eventually, the game was over.
The game had only been over by a few minutes, when Jon concluded that he desperately needed another distraction. Waiting wasn't easy. When Jon queried for something else to watch, the computer made several failed attempts to please him. Eventually, Jon asked to see the last game Karyn played before today. Jon soon lost himself watching that game.
When Karyn transported back to the apartment, Jon welcomed her with relief and complimented her on how well she played. As she climbed out of the hardsuit Karyn started to tell him all about it. She'd had a great time. After a few minutes of listening with polite patience, Jon finally interrupted Karyn.
"Karyn, I'll listen to you, but please give me a minute.", Jon said. As she paused, he ordered, "Computer, please restore our bodies to normal."
In moments, Karyn was a bit pregnant, and Jon was again a male bodybuilder.
"Thanks, now tell me all about the game.", Jon said appreciatively.
Karyn did. Eventually she wound down.
"Ok, you ready to go back now?", Jon inquired.
"Oh. Are you in a hurry?", Karyn asked.
"No, but I figured we'd been here long enough. You got to try out that hardsuit. Besides, I have no idea what time it's gotten to back home.", Jon pointed out.
"Well that's true. How about we take advantage of this world for a little while longer and then go home.", Karyn suggested.
"Yeah, I could live with that.", Jon said as he popped another snack in his mouth. "The food is pretty good."
