The arrival and unloading went as smoothly as it could for the group. Sir Garrett in his caution kept rechecking the gear. He worried about the weight of the pack for Princess Fina. He shook it off everyone had to carry their own weight. She knew this would be a difficult journey into the swamps. Sir Garrett loved having Fina at his side despite the danger. Stronger together than apart this would test Fina's resolve to be married to one whose life engendered danger by the nature of it. Sir Garrett hefted his pack with ease. He looked to Albert approaching with pack already on. Princess Fina soon arrived with the Nelsons' she quickly threw on her pack eager to get on the way. She hefted the pack easier than Sir Garrett thought she would.
Princess Fina trained hard so that Sir Garrett wouldn't find her a burden. If the need arose she would be able to take care of herself. She smiled at Sir Garrett's appraising view. She stuck out her ample chest for his pleasure. Making her way down to the docks and beyond. The rest of the party followed into a quaint village that stood next too the foreboding swamp and forest.
Lizardmen could be seen in various places bartering for goods and services. The years of peaceful dwelling next to the village civilized them some but savageness still remained in their eyes. They wore clothes and sometimes even armor that their more primitive brethren shunned. Princess Fina watched them with fascination as they passed. She hoped that they might be able to stop but the Nelsons' took the lead telling them that night would begin soon. They wanted to get them settled in while the light still showed. The sun did hang low when they reached the farm.
The house and barn looked well maintained but the fields showed much neglect. It didn't have the feel of a working farm with the smell and sounds of animals. Sir Garrett's slowed his pace and began to look for danger. Something just didn't feel right.
