Jon and Karyn got back into the bus. Everyone had noticed the change. The guys seemed happier about the choice than the girls did. Mrs. Raiford said, "We're going to another universe. This time the change is bigger and has some social consequences. Again, look for the changes and come back to the bus."
There was the now familiar warping as the bus transisted to another reality. "All right, class," said Mrs. Raiford. "Go out and explore."
Jon and Karyn went out again. They decided to head back to the cafe (or whatever was in the same location). There wasn't much surprise as the same cafe was there. "She's probably picking out realitvely benign, at least superfically similar to our own before going into anything that might be dangerous," said Karyn. "Sort of practice."
Jon agreed. As they observed the people walking by. Suddenly, Karyn grabbed Jon's arm and pointed. "Jon, look at that," she said.
