"Well, I think we should start at the dress store. We can get some ideas, and let them do some measurements for you. With your fair skin tone, and light hair, I am thinking we need something that goes more towards your eye color, so in the blue to green hues. Also, I think we should go with a longer gown, and some nice shoes, then we can worry about the lingerie, purse, and jewelry. Might just as well also make your appointment for your hair, makeup and nails so that you are all set for the big day. Think that will be a very busy day. Home some nice boy asks you to the prom after we put in all this work dear," Karyn was really getting into the mom role, and loved the idea of having Jon go through the ordeal of trying on the hundreds of dresses until she finds the perfect one. From this outside perspective, Karyn will get to see all angles of her body, which is better than she could ever get with mirrors or camera phone.
"Okay mom, but first, can I talk to my best friend over here," Jon gestured to a table out of the way and sat down. "Karyn, I am sorry I did not do this sooner, but would you go with me to the Prom? I really wanted to ask you, but never wanted to jeopardize our friendship, so it will totally be just as friends if that is what you would like to do."
"Well, I will give you my answer, on three conditions. One, you ask me again when I am not in my mother's body, and you are not wearing my clothes. Condition two, I do not owe you anything for all of the help you have given me today. Finally, condition three, if I so choose, you will switch with me when I ask you to at any time during prom."
"Yes, sure, I mean, I will."
"Okay, then yes, but you better ask me really nice, I want a promposal. You better do this right for me, I want you in a tux, renting a limo, pictures, flowers, and you are dancing with me all night mister," and with that, Karyn found it hard to stifle her chuckle calling her old self a mister.
"Yes mam!"
"Okay, then it sounds like my daughter has a date that will be asking her out, so we best get to the gown shopping. Let's get to that dress store. You have a lot of gowns to try on missy!"
