"Hey Jon, are you ready to go? I wanna get there while the food is still hot,"
yelled Joseph.
Jon walked out from behind the gym. "Yeah, I'm ready to go. Let's get out of this hellhole for awhile."
Jon walked along with Joseph to his car. He decided to try and get him to use his wish before they made it to the restaurant. If he was lucky he could get him to wish that the cafeteria would be serving fish today or something small like that.
"Uh, Joseph. If you could have a small wish come true for your birthday what would it be?"
"I don't know," said Joseph uninterestingly.
"Well just think about it for a while," said Jon, hoping that he would instead of blowing it off.
"Hmmmm. Well this Friday is the Spring Fling Dance and I still don't have a date..." said Joseph as he pretended to be in deep thought.
"That's it, Joseph, just wish for a date to the dance," thought Jon.
"Buuuuuttttt...wishes are hard to come by so I shouldn't squander it on a date to a high school dance. My wish would need to have more of a long term payoff and I would really like to get the most out of it." Joseph continued with his thinking man pose while muttering "Hmmmmm" under his breath.
Jon's hopes sank. "Maybe getting him to think about this was a mistake," Jon thought. "He might do more damage if he actually tries to wish for something instead of accidentally wishing for something."
"Aha! I know a good one. I wish..."
