Joseph transformed, growing breasts, changing clothes, but Jon saw none of it because of the way the wish makes people look away for a moment. What Jon did see was that Joseph was now a rather cute girl, and no doubt he worked here as a waitress too, though he didn't have a uniform on.
"Let me guess," said Jon. "Your name is Josephine?"
Joseph(ine) blinked. "Of course my name is Josephine," she said. "But you know I like to be called Josie. Are you okay?"
"Never mind, Josie," replied Jon. "I was just trying to figure out why we were here..."

It wasn't that hard at all to figure out how to reverse the wishes. 'I wish that when Joseph wanted the place to have cute waitresses, he meant it had cute waitresses, but not that it only had them and nothing else.' Then Joseph could work here as a guy and everything would be solved.
Only he couldn't do that. The stone wouldn't let him do it himself, so he'd have to get Josie to do it. And there was no way he could get Josie to casually blurt out a complicated wish-fixing sentence like that.
But wait, maybe there was a way. "Josie, could you do me a favor?"
"What is it, Jon?"
"Just... say 'I wish that the wish Jon had in mind came true.'" That would work.
"Oh, come on. What's all this with the wishes?" said Josephine.
Argh. Joseph had been upset at Jon for talking about wishes, and it carried over to Josie, who was upset too! Not as upset, but still upset.
And Josephine continued, "If I was going to wish something, I'd say 'I wish....
