So my name is Jamie now, thought Jon. "Uhh, nothing," she said. "I mean I don't know. And by the way, I wish that nobody would notice my wishes if I don't want them to."
It was time for some major wish fixing. "I wish I knew how to affect Josephine's wishes."
The stone answered in Jamie's head. "You cannot affect Josephines wishes. However, if you were to give Josephine more wishes like her earlier ones, she could use them to affect the first three."
Great, just great. To become a guy again Jamie would have to give Josephine some more wishes--and she might make Jamie a guy again, but she might also make things worse.
"Huh?" said Josephine. "Earth to Jamie... you just dozed off for a second there, wake up." She hadn't noticed the wishes, so she thought Jamie was just sitting there.
"Oh, I was thinking of something else," said Jamie.
"What, your boyfriend?"
"My boyfriend" thought Jamie? "First it's Joseph, now who is it? "
Josephine giggled. "Just kidding."
Whew, thought Jamie.
"I mean, imagine you going for boys..."
"What" wondered Jamie "does that mean that she's still dating Josephine but they're lesbians?" But hopefully she'd never need to find out. Not that Jamie had anything against lesbians, but still. There had to be some way to fix this.
Then the answer occurred to Jamie. Josephine's wishes couldn't be affected at all. But not everything that had happened this day was caused by Josephine's wish. Jon's wish made Josephine not notice anything unusual happening. Not Josephine's wish. So that wish could be affected after all.
"I wish," said Jamie, "that my wish for Joseph not to notice anything strange, means that he doesn't think it's strange to have a wish granted, but he still does remember what changed."
"Whoa!" said Josephine. "It was all magic! And we're lesbian girlfriends now, and both working here!" Well, that answered that question. "Can we change back?"
"Yeah," said Jon. "We can. But I can't reverse these wishes. You have to do it, so I need to give you some wishes to use to reverse the first three."
"Uh-huh," said Josephine.
"Even then," said Jamie, "you can't contradict wishes. You wished this place had some cute waitresses. So you can't just say 'I wish there aren't any cute waitresses here." But you could say 'I wish that this place still has some cute waitresses, but they're not the only people working here.' Are you ready?"
"Ready as ever," said Josephine.
Jamie touched her stone and said, "I wish that Josephine has three wishes of similar type to the three wishes I gave her as Joseph."
Josephine sat there thinking.
Jamie said "Having trouble? I already told you how to reverse the wishes."
"Oh, I know that," said Josephine. "But having three wishes... it's so awesome. And you know how lots of guys like us find lesbians hot. I'm not sure I want to completely reverse all the wishes. In fact, Jamie, I wish...."
