Joseph transformed, growing breasts, changing clothes, but Jon saw none of it because of the way the wish makes people look away for a moment. What Jon did see was that Joseph was now a rather cute girl, and no doubt he worked here as a waitress too, though he didn't have a uniform on.

"Let me guess," said Jon. "Your name is Josephine?"

Joseph(ine) blinked. "Of course my name is Josephine," she said. "Just because I'm not wearing my name tag, how could you possibly forget my name?"

"Never mind, Josephine," replied Jon. "I was just trying to figure out why we were here..."

"Yeah," said Josephine. "I wasn't sure about going on a date at the same place I work, but I think we get better service this way, so it all works out."

But wait, maybe there was a way. "Josephine, could you do me a favor?"

"What is it, Jon?"

"Just... say 'I wish that the wish Jon had in mind came true.'" That would work.

"Oh, come on. What's all this with the wishes?" said Josephine.

Argh. Joseph had been upset at Jon for talking about wishes, and it carried over to Josephine, who was upset too! Not as upset, but still upset.

And Josephine continued, "If I was going to wish something, I'd say 'I wish....
