Jen said "I wish that time would speed up for us in the bathroom so a moment is like an hour for us, and that this would end after an hour for us."

The footsteps suddenly stopped.

"Zoe," said Jen, "I wish you accepted that your memories of having a brother and a dead sister were caused by the stone." And then he added, "Zoe, do you realize what you did?"

The idea hit Zoe like a brick. "I do now. You know, it's really both of our faults. What do we do? Things are going to get complicated...."

"I know," said Jen. "We can't undo the wish, but we can change it a little bit. Nobody's seen our sister yet. She hasn't experienced more than taking a couple of steps down a hall. Why don't we wish to make her the way we want? It's not as if she's been something else for years and we're taking away her past."

"Hmm," said Zoe.

"I wish," said Jen, "that when we describe our sister, an image of her will appear in front of us, and that by the end of the hour of fast time the image will disappear and our sister will be like that."

A pillar of air in front of Jen turned foggy, then cleared away to reveal a transparent, indistinct figure of a girl with a very generic looking face, sort of like Jen's mother's. It was a five foot high blob with a face. "How about this?" said Jen. "Red hair, blue eyes." The figure's head suddenly cleared up. The figure of the girl now had short red hair and blue eyes.

"Make the hair longer," said Zoe. "And blonde." The hair lengthened and changed color.

"No," said Jen, "make it redhead, but keep the length." The hair turned a reddish shade once more. "Hmm, how about making the girl Zoe's identical twin?" The hair blackened, the figure grew black fingernails, and the whole thing became distinct--looking identical to Zoe.

"Hmm," said Zoe. She was really starting to get in the mood. "Slightly bigger breasts, and make her not be a goth. We don't need two in the house!" The hair changed subtly, the nails became pink. "In fact, never mind that, instead of my twin, make her Jen's." The figure was now an exact duplicate of Jen. "Oh, and she should be tolerant of anything strange, like me being a Goth. Make her like to do the things me and Jen like to do, except for Goth dress and makeup. She's popular at school but hates the people we hate. She takes our side when we argue with Mom or Dad."

A green block of text appeared--right in midair, like a screen on one of those sci-fi TV shows, saying "Personality: Tolerant of others such as Goths. Interests: Includes same as Jen and Zoe. Popular with friends of Jen or Zoe, supports Jen/Zoe in conflict with parents."

"You can do that?" said Jen. "Hmm. How about good fashion sense? And make her very smart, but willing to help us with homework if we have problems." More words appeared on the green display.

"If she has good fashion sense, how about some nice clothes?" said Zoe. The figure was now clothed--and of course the clothes were all black.

"Wait a minute," said Jen. "Change that to a green dress. Or we can make our sister a tomboy." The figure changed, first so that it was wearing a green dress, then to T-shirt and pants and very short hair. "Or... Wait a minute, we need a name, if she isn't a twin, we need an age, we need a sexual orientation if you think we should pick that."

It took the good part of an hour before Jen and Zoe were satisfied with just what their new sister would be like. Then the display winked out, and the transparent figure vanished. The footsteps were close, and then their new sister opened the door. She was exactly as Jen and Zoe had specified her. She was....
