"What?"
"You want to go to the prom with me, right?"
"More than anything," she said.
"Well ... that's only because I made a wish for you to."
"But ... I really do want to go to the prom with you. It can't be because of a wish."
"Karyn, you know how the stone works. People that don't hear the wish think that everything's normal."
"But I love you." Karyn really did seem to genuinely be in love with him, but Jon knew that she was only that way because of the stone. "Don't you love me too?"
