Jon's heart raced. She wondered what it would be like to live in a world where she had to obey men. The thought that once made her stiff started to make her wet. The guy coming up to her and Karyn was undeniably attractive, and Jon would have thought so even as a guy.
He had thin brown hair that was spiked up and carefully quaffed. His eyes were deep brown, warm and kind, but also hungry. He looked all at once relaxed and eager. Sympathetic and strong. But maybe all of that was deceiving.
"Jon, we need to get out of here now!" Karyn whispered in Jon's ear. She was the innocent party in all this, and Jon actually regretted bringing her along now. So Jon turned to Karyn and then did the unthinkable. Jon gave Karyn the wishing stone.
"You should get out of here before --" Jon motioned to the oncoming guy. Karyn had eyes like a deer about to be hit by a truck, wide and terrified, not even comprehending. "Go, silly!" Jon shoved her friend, and Karyn stumbled back before gathering her wits and running from the park, stone cradled in her arms like a baby. The stone didn't matter to Jon. She had what she wanted. Perfect obedience and total helplessness.
It would be strange to be far away from the wishes, because Jon would remember whatever she came up with as being true. She didn't think Karyn could figure out how to change the world back to what it was, but anything, she supposed, would be possible.
The guy finally got to her just as Karyn hit the tree line, and Jon turned to meet the boy. She was lost for a moment in his brown eyes and warm smile. He put his hand out for Jon to take,
"I'm Ricky," he said.
"Jon," she said, taking his large hand daintily.
"Are you anyone's boyfriend?"
"Nope," Jon said, smiling more for the beautiful boy.
"In that case, you're my girlfriend." And as he said that the physical attracting Jon already felt for Rickey amped up several notches. She couldn't imagine being anyone else's girl, or wanting anyone but him.
With that out of the way, Rickey put a protective and possessive hand around Jon's shoulder, and led her out of the park. "Let's go back to my place."
