Karyn blinked and took a step back as my warm horse hide started changing, becoming hard and cool to the touch. "Jon, what are you doing?"
My legs rearranged themselves as I became bipedal and humanoid again, though I lost little mass as my limbed thickened and became metallic and reflective. In a few seconds, I was a seven foot tall chrome-steel robot that could have trashed a half dozen Terminators without breaking a ... well, needing maintenance. I focussed my optical sensors on the human in front of me, idly noting I saw both into the ultraviolet as well as the infrared. "I decided to try being a robot."
Karyn snorted. "A big war machine from the looks of it." She poked at my armored frame. "How useless."
"Useless?" My voice had become less emotional, more flat, but even with that I managed to sound miffed.
"Sure, what good are you like that? You're only good for fighting. I'm not even sure I could take you inside the house, you probably weigh so much!" Karyn rolled her eyes. "If you're going to be a robot, be something useful." She grinned mischeviously. "A robot maid! That'd be useful. Or at least become something more human-sized."
I was about to protest her dismissal of my form when suddenly my thoughts froze. SECOND LAW OVERRIDE -- HUMAN ORDERS MUST BE OBEYED EXCEPT WHEN CONFLICTING WITH THE FIRST LAW. Suddenly, I knew I had to change and obey Karyn's suggestion -- I apparently had made myself subject to the Three Laws of Robotics!
