"I wonder," said Carol.
"No, it doesn't," said Karyn.
"What?" said Jonnie.
"Wishes don't just stop," said Karyn. "Right? We've still got the wishes about you being what you want to be and me controlling what you don't want to be. If you want to be younger, and I let you want that,you will be younger. You made people remember you as older, but you don't have to be older. And even then, you could change that by wishing that people don't notice when you're missing because they're forgetful."
"Hmm."
"So what do you want? Jon? Carol? Kathy? Do you want your mother to be almost your age? Or to be a guy?"
"Do I get a vote?" asked Jon.
"Of course you do. One vote out of three...."
