I paused after shifting back to a leopard morph form. Karyn turned and looked back at me curiously when she saw the pensive look on my face.
"What's wrong?" She asked curiously.
"I was just thinking Our last few wishes haven't turned out that bad, but things could have gotten really ugly back there. Like that bird thing If I'd forgotten who or what I saw " I shook my head. The thought was more than a bit chilling.
"Yeah.. I guess you're right.. this stone IS rather dangerous " She said, reflecting on it as well. "But It still has so much potential.. Do you really ant to stop using it?"
I looked down at my furred form and swishing tail, and grinned a bit. "Nah.. Not really.. It is kind of fun But Hmmmmm.. Maybe we can make it a little safe " I said, thinking aloud. "Give me the stone back, would you?"
"Well Okay." Karyn said, handing it over carefully. "Just be careful." She grinned slightly, a mischievous look in her eye. "And don't get any funny ideas!"
I laughed and winked back. "don't worry.. I plan on being VERY careful " I closed my eyes and took a moment to word things in my head before I spoke.
"I wish that any wish we make with this stone will automatically last only an hour, unless we specify a different length of time, and that at the end of the hour things would return back to normal." I let out a deep breath and looked at the stone. Nothing really seemed to happen, but who could tell?
Karyn nodded in appreciation. "That's really pretty smart.. I'm surprised we didn't think of it before."
I smiled. "Well, I figure this way if we accidentally wish something we didn't mean to, it won't be permanent. . And if it's something good, we can always wish it to stay that way longer "
"If it actually works." She said.
I nodded. "If it actually works "
