"Karryyn! That's not funny!" I said with a bit of a pout, trying to ignore the way my cheeks flushed. It was getting increasingly hard to talk as my body continued shifting. I nodded in agreement at her comment about my backpack though, and handed it out to here, trying not to poke holes in the nylon with my claws.

"Herrrre Be Carrrrrreful. . Stone " I managed to growl out as Karyn took the bag, my tail swishing a bit anxiously. She nodded in understanding though.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful with it. Come on. Let's get you home, kitten " Karyn said with an amused grin, picking up the pace.

By now I had shifted all the way into a feline. I trotted along beside Karyn for the rest of the trip home, easily keeping pace. The world seemed a bit odd from this perspective. My point of view was a lot closer to the ground. And my sense of smell was even more acute like this than as a hybrid. It was actually a bit overwhelming at first, with all the scents on the sidewalk and street. But I quickly got used to it, and found I could pick out certain odors.

We passed a few people as we went walked, but no one game us more than a second glance. Apparently things like this weren't uncommon on a full moon. The few odd looks I got didn't really bother me. What DID bother me was Karyn's rather one-sided conversation as we walked.

"Well now, mark IS rather cute.. And he DOES seem to like you.." She said with a little smirk. "Of course, Zach is pretty cute too. But HE didn't try to kiss ME.. . Of course, I haven't known him quite as long as YOU two ." She said, giggling and grinning at me. I rolled my eyes and finally hissed slightly and swatted her leg lightly. That finally made her quiet down, but the continuous smirk she gave me was almost as bad! Sheesh! Like this situation wasn't embarrassing ENOUGH?

"Well, here we are ." Karyn said as we finally reached my house. I breathed a small sigh of relief as Karyn knocked on the door, and my father answered.

"Ah, there you are Jonni! You're late! Your mother was getting a tad worried " My Father said as he opened the door. His smile took the edge off his words though.

"Sorry Mr. Meyer. We got a bit preoccupied studying." Karyn shot me an amused glance and I resisted the urge to growl at her.

"Well, no matter. We'll talk about it later. Come on in!" My dad said, as Karyn and I entered the house. "Your mother is upstairs resting Jonni. If you want Karyn, I can give you a ride home once Jonni is settled in."

"That's be great, thanks Mr. Meyers." Karyn said, quickly accepting. She wasn't thrilled with the prospect of walking home herself in the dark anyway.

I used my teeth to tug lightly on Karyn's pants leg and bounded up to my room, Karyn behind me. I sighed a bit in relief as Karyn closed the door behind us, and I flopped down on my bed.

"So.. What now?" Karyn asked, taking my books out of my book bad and placing them on a table. She placed the box with the stone on the bed between us. I wondered exactly what SHOULD we do? I guess I'd have to wait until this full moons stuf was finished to fix things. After all, I certainly couldn't make any wishes as is. I couldn't even talk! But then again, Karyn always could .
