I sighed in relief as I met Karyn back in the hall after my class.
"Heya Jonni! How did your class turn out?" She asked with a grin as she approached.
I grimaced and shook my head. "NOT fun Can you believe they made a separate little class for were-Leopards?"
"Huh?" Karyn raised an eyebrow. "You mean you had some sort of special ed class or something?"
"Sort of.. It was a little class run by the nurse in a side room. Just for me it seems, since no one else was there." Karyn giggled.
"It doesn't sound so bad having your own class. What was wrong with it?"
"Well, lets see. It was incredibly boring the first part. Talking about shifting, when to shift and when not to. Effects of the moon. Ruining clothes. Those sorts of things. And the rest was just embarrassing." I made a face.
"Embarrassing? How?" Karyn asked with a giggle.
"I don't want to get into it "
"Awww, come on Jonni.. you can tell ME " Karyn wheedled. I sighed and shrugged my shoulders. I DID sorta of feel like telling her, now that I thought about it. I didn't see any real reason not to.
"It was all about. . Reproduction. Cycles and such. 'Special times' of the year. Safe sex and all. Birth control pills. Those sorts of things." I made another face. It had been more than a bit tempting to pull out the stone and just WISH that class away, but I had decided against it. No more impulsive wishes.. Karyn just broke into giggles at my predicament. .
"Hey, it's not funny!" I complained. "It was embarrassing! What do they think I am?"
"A cute high school girl I guess " Karyn said with a wink. "Don't worry, we all get the same talks and stuff at some time, usually in PE. Anyway, what was that about the moon anyway?"
"Oh, just something about the phases of the moon affecting my shifting and things a bit. I really didn't pay much attention. Nurse Gretin just babbled on and on and on She could make ANYTHING seem boring. I almost nodded off! Besides, not like I'll be like this long, so who cares?" I asked
"Well, I guess your right. Anyway, we'd better get to our next classes. How's the rest of your schedule?" Karyn questioned.
"Well.. a few other classes have changed a bit.. I only have room numbers and class numbers, no names. Hopefully none will be that bad." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Well, good luck then Jonni. I'll see you between periods. And remember to be careful with that stone!"
"I will! I'll see you in a little while Karyn." I said and waved as I headed for the next class.
