I blinked at Karyn. "Why did you jus call me Jonni?" I asked nervously.
"Um.. I really don't know " Karyn replied. "It just seemed like a good idea.. Better than calling you Jon. Why?" Karyn chuckled suddenly. "Why, you're as nervous as a cat in a room full of pit bulls! What's wrong?" She asked with amusement.
"Mark.. Kinda made a wish. By accident." I said, looking around to make sure no one was in ear shot. Karyn's face turned a bit somber.
"He did? What was it?" She asked quickly.
"Well.. He wished he could.. And I quote 'See more of me like this.'" I replied nervously, tail swishing. Karyn gasped a bit.
"And what happened?" She questioned.
"I.. I don't KNOW!" I said feeling increasingly nervous. "Nothing SEEMS to have changed much.. I thought maybe my clothes got a little smaller, but I can't tell, and no one seems to notice anything "
"Hmmmmmmm.. I wonder how the stone interpreted his wish then?" She said curiously, thinking.
"I don't know, but however it did, I don't think I'll like it. Oh, by the way, he asked if you and I want to go study with him and Zach later. I.. Kinda said yes. Then I said I'd ask you." I stated, embarrassed.
"You said yes?" Karyn replied, giggling in amusement with a raised eyebrow. I flushed a bit beneath my fur.
"I was surprised and worrying about the wish. It was just the first thing that came out of my mouth!" I said a bit defensively. "Anyway, you can always say you can't go, and get us out of it "
"Um.. No, that's okay." Karyn giggled. "Those two really COULD use some help. And besides, Zach IS a bit cute Of course, a lot of girls think the same of Mark " Karyn said with a grin and a wink, causing my tail to flick in annoyance.
"That's not funny Karyn." I responded, looking annoyed.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry.. I couldn't resist.." Karyn said, giggling. "You should see the look on your face!" she cleared her throat. "Anyway, Mark IS you friend. You'd help him under normal circumstances, right? So no reason not to now. Right?" she said with a grin.
I had a bit of a funny feeling she just wanted to see me and Mark working together for a bit. Or maybe she just wanted to show off her new form to Zach a bit. She DID seem a bit more I don't know. .Feminine than usual lately. But she was right, and I nodded my head slowly after a moment.
"Well, okay. It's settled then." She said with a big grin. Then she paused and gasped. "Oh no! I just realized something! It's almost noon! The wish that no one will notice anything unusual was only for the morning. We'd better do something soon!"
"Oh yeah! You're right!" I said, nodding as I recalled her previous wish.
