Jon's mother ran over to him and pleaded her case.
"Jon, you know Jessica, she does this sometimes. She get's cold feet and has these crazy ideas. We will find her, and she will come to her senses and want to be back in her own wedding. We just need to stall a little, and make sure things keep moving. I have a few people already out looking for her."
"Great, I will call Karyn and we will look for her, I have some ideas where she likes to hide out."
"Acutely, Jon, we need a different sort of help from you. This is going to sound crazy, but please hear me out first. We need someone to stand in for Jessica for the Ceremony. However, there are not to many people that can pull this off. I take that back, there is only one person that can pull it off, and you know who it is and why."
"Wait, WHAT? You want me to do what? How, I mean, no, you cannot be asking me to dress up as my sister and fill in for her as the bride, that is just, no."
Before his mother could respond, Zoe sat down next to him and explained why this had to be him.
"Jon, face it, you are the only one. You and she have nearly the same face, and are the same height. You have worn her clothes before by mistake and as a joke on purpose. This is a huge ask, but I can't do it as I am the maid of honor. None of her friends could pass as her in front of our family. You are not in the wedding party, so you would not be missed at the ceremony. We will just say you were taking care of a family issue, and in actuality, you will just be our bride."
"Listen, Jon, we have a friend of Jessica's here from a theater group. He does the makeup, and well, he is also a bit of explorer of his own. He claims if we give him you, and the assistance of Zoe, in the three hours we have left, he can make you over to look just like her. You do not have an extravagant vow, so we can pass you through that. Here, give me your left hand, I want to show you something."
Jon placed his left hand in his mothers, and she slid Jessica's engagement ring onto his finger, and it fit perfectly.
"Jon, if you do this for me, I will get you those games you wanted, and that new console thing, please, we need you!"
