"Go on, out of my way!" A clean-shaven, tall man in plainclothes made his way past the drawbridge, glancing toward Lucy's chest for a moment as he walked. Lucy's face turned beet-red...
And then she gasped, instinctively covering her mouth as she did. That was the face of the King of Rogues!
The King disappeared into the crowd as the guard shook his head. "Rude of him, isn't it? I suppose it is nice to know you're turning heads, but that man made it all too obvious."
"No, not that..." Lucy blushed again, extremely embarrassed. "Mostly not that. It's... Th-that man... was one of the bandits."
"Was he now?" The guard said, "You aren't making this up. Are you?"
"I swear I'm not. He escaped the Golem..."
Another man said, "I shall deal with that. Guard, continue your watch."
The man in the doorway was wearing the telltale robe and hat of a wizard, both blue and embroidered with gold. "Sir, are you a Royal Sorcerer?"
"Of course." The man said, "My name is Alfador. Yours?"
"Lucy, sir."
"Well met." Alfador nodded. "Here to discuss the Bandits in Giltenbrook, right?"
"Right, sir."
"Very well, there's plenty to discuss. Let us make for the study. Follow me."
