As a robin flew overhead, Lucy realized that there was one thing she could do to avoid the bandits much more easily. "I can fly," she said, pointing at herself.
Immediately, Lucy felt the world grow larger around her, with the ring shrinking to fit her tiny hand. At the same time, an odd sensation surged through her back as she sprouted wings.
Lucy had read enough fairy stories to know what she was now. Testing her wings, she flew up, then down, left and right and around in circles, getting used to her new wings. Sure, she was six inches tall, but did it matter when the Ring was around her finger?
"Where in the Abyss is she?!"
Lucy turned her attention to the bandits she saw rounding the corner. She flew high to avoid their sight, looking out for the ones with bows. An arrow would not be good for Lucy's health. Spying one, she pointed right at him from above. How to respond to them? Even now, Lucy was reluctant to pass judgment on them...
"When I find her, I'll make her squeal, I will..." A bandit growled.
