"I'm a girl," said Jon. "And I lost the stone."
"Don't be ridiculous," said Karyn. "Are you playing some kind of a trick...?" Then she realized Jon was on the verge of tears. "You're serious, aren't you? Then those pants..."
"I can't hide it from you any more," explained Jon. "It's my period."
"I can hardly believe it," said Karyn. "Can you... show me?"
"I told you... I can't hide from you any more. Come on in to the bathroom and please close the door."
Jon motioned Karyn in and shoved the door shut, then quickly twisted the latch on the knob. He pulled down his pants, to which Karyn replied "I never thought you'd be pulling your pants down for me in quite this way." She just stared at his parts for a while and then asked "So you're a lesbian? Not a boy?"
"I don't know..." said Jon. "It's confusing. I've lived as a boy, I think I like girls, but I..."He glanced down to his vagina. "I want to be filled. Maybe I'm just imagining that I like girls."
"Don't say that," said Karyn. "I still think of you as a guy, and you should just get the stone and wish to be one. As far as I'm concerned, this whole thing is just a couple of minutes I can ignore. You're a guy before, as far as I know. You're a guy after"
"Karyn, if I wanted to change myself the way you're thinking, I would have done it the minute I got the stone. And it's gone anyway."
