Jon woke up the next morning feeling very unusual. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he just felt...off.

Yawning, he brushed a long strand of dark brown hair out of his eyes. Wow, I just got it cut. Wait. There's no way it could be this long. Feeling around his neck, he found that his hair was now shoulder length.

What the hell? Oh no. The wish! He thought, suddenly remembering yesterday. Quickly putting on his clothes he ran once again to the bathroom mirror.

"Oh shit!" He exclaimed. Not only was his hair shoulder length, but it was curled and styled the exact same way as his mother's, albeit disheveled from sleep. Not only that, but his clothes felt entirely too loose on him.

"Jon, I heard you swearing, what's going-Oh my!" His mother exclaimed, hurrying behind him.

He grabbed a lock of his longer hair and glared at her. "Remember that wish you made yesterday? It's still working! I'm...I'm turning into you!"

Sherry only stood there agape, too stunned to move.

"Wait." Jon said, taking a few deep breaths to calm down. "We can still fix this. Wishes can't be reversed, but they can be reinterpreted. Where did you hide the stone? We have to fix this now!"

"It's just in my purse. Wait here, I'll go get it." Sherry responded.

A few moments later she came back, and as promised the stone was resting in the palm of her hand.

"Now we have to figure out how to fix this." Jon said.

They both thought for several minutes before his mother, overcome by frustration, suddenly exclaimed "I just wish this stone were somewhere where we wouldn't have to worry about it!"

There was another bright flash, and when Jon looked back, the stone was gone.

"Oh. Oh Jon, I'm so sorry." His mother said.

"Mom! How could you do that?! I'd think yesterday would have taught you to be more careful."

"I'm so so sorry. It just slipped out! Oh, what are we going to do.?"

"Hold on a sec. The stone has a limited range. So if it vanished, it must have reappeared somewhere else in town! It can only affect things within a few miles! We have to find it!" Jon felt a sudden rush of hope.

"I'll call the school and tell them you're sick, then we can both look for it." Sherry said.

But before she could move, Jon felt a tremendous tingling sensation along his entire body, and an odd shifting feeling. "M-mom!" He called out to her as he started to change.

When the feeling passed, he found he was now looking his mother in the eye. She was 5'5, he had been 5'9. That meant he had lost four inches in height. Further examination in the mirror revealed that his mother and he now had the exact same skin tone, and the hairs on his face chest, and legs were gone, and those on the rest of his body much thinner. But there was something else odd about his face...

My eyebrows have been plucked. He realized suddenly. The stone wasn't just changing him to physically resemble his mother, but to look exactly like her. The revelation was very disturbing. Would they be able to find the stone in time? Would he eventually change to be an exact duplicate of his mother? Would the changes stay physical, or would he even start thinking like her? And most importantly, where was the stone?
