"I'm not joking, Mom," insisted Jon. "Why do you care so much about this ... Zoe all of a sudden?" The name was clearly not one that he was used to saying. "How would you even know about her? She's not in my grade."
"Because she's my daughter! And your sister!"
"Mom, you're the one who's acting funny. You know Karyn is my sister. You told us you'd never forget the day your twin treasures were born!"

"No, you stop it." Jon handed the phone to Karyn. "You talk to Mom."

She never imagined that she'd want Zoe's Goth trappings back. They had disappeared without a trace. In their place were photos which proved that Karyn and Jon were twins. Karyn even looked like her. And Zoe was nowhere to be seen in any family portraits there or anywhere else around the house.
"ZOE!!" cried Jon's mom. "WHERE ARE YOU!?"
