Robin was a bit surprised that he did sort of enjoyed himself. His mother had several errands to run and Robin trailed along behind her. After nearly two hours, Robin had a chance to sit while his mother did her thing.

"A real bummer, isn't it? Having to follow your mother all day?" A voice brought Robin out of his thoughts.

Robin turned and saw two teenagers about his age.

"My name is Shelly and this is my brother, Ralph. He is shy. We are twins."

Robin looked at the pair. The pair were dressed a lot like Robin was. Shelly's top had a Hello Kitty logo, while Ralph's was for the local sports team.

"I, ah, I think I will, ah, I'll be right back." Ralph said before rapidly disappearing from sight.

"Ralph is even more shy around girls, especially pretty ones." Shelly said.

Robin wondered what that had to do with him but before he asked about it, Shelly continued, "We go to Uptown High. Where to you go to school?"

Willing to talk about something non-threatening, Robin said, "I go to Riverside High."

"Do you have any brothers?"

"No, I have three sisters. My older sisters are twins, they are identical twins. They are four years older than me. My youngest sister is a year younger than me."

"Only girls. I bet your dad is out numbered."

"My dad died when I was just a baby." I said. "I don't remember him at all."

"What a bummer!" Shelly said. "I don't always get along with my dad, but I can't imagine being without him."

"Since I can't remember having a dad, it isn't too bad. There are times it would be nice to have a dad. But it isn't so bad with just my sisters, Mom, and me."

"Maybe not. But with five women you must have lots of bathrooms."

"We only have one full bathroom and a half bathroom." Robin said, not noticing that Shelly's comment meant that she thought that Robin was a girl.

"You poor girl. I don't think that I could get out of the house if I had to share a bathroom."

"It isn't so bad." Robin said. "I guess that we are used to it."

Just then Robin's mom finished her errand. "I'm done Robin, you ready to go?"

"Sure Mom." Robin said. Then remembering his manners, he said. "Mom, this is Shelly. We have been talking. Shelly, this is my mom, Mrs. Thomas."

The two said hello to the other and then Robin and his mom left; with Robin saying good-bye to Shelly over his shoulder.
