It didn't take many seconds before Zoe came back in again.
"What the fuck happened?" She demanded angrily.
"Jon! Don't talk like that, young man," Deb answered sternly. "You know I don't like it when..."
"Mom," Jon interrupted. "Please not now! We're supposed to be off to the mall. And what's that you're holding there? May I look at it?"
Deb handed the stone over to what appeared to be her daughter. "Sure. It's your brothers, so just give it to him afterwards."
Jon then turned to her brother, and suggested that they'd leave. She leaned in and whispered in his ear.
"Yes, I know we're in each others bodies. I'll explain once mom's out of earshot." This seemed to have the desired effect, and ten seconds after, they were both outside.
"Now, what the hell just happened?" Zoe asked.
"It's this stone. It's magical. Everytime somebody words a wish, it fulfills it. When mom wished we'd walk a mile in each others shoes, we swapped bodies. We'll only need to walk a mile and we'll be back in our own bodies. I suggest we walk to the mall."
