She pointed the hand holding the stone at Karyn, and Karyn jerked her head to the side a little to look behind Sue.
Sue stopped for a moment to say, "Ha!" Further discourse was prevented by the 2x4 landing solidly on Sue's head. Sue fell in a heap.
Jonnie stepped the rest of the way around the doorway to look at Karyn, and said, "Sorry I couldn't get here any sooner."
Karyn couldn't say anything, but reached across to hug Jonnie. After a few moments, she realized that the stone was still in Sue's hand, and reached down to get it back from her. But when she looked, it wasn't there. Sue was, but Karyn couldn't see the stone.
