"Really?" asked Karyn. "You can't think of anything?"
"Yeah," said Jessica.
"I can. You swapped so that the wish that you be your Mom's daughters goes to some other people. Now they have to be daughters. That means they have to be female, and you don't. Wouldn't it also mean they have to be plural and you don't? All you need to worry about is the names."
"All we have to do," said Julie, "is wish that the names went with the other people after all."
"Then why not?" asked Karyn. "It's better than having the names on a guy, and they won't notice that they got new names."
Julie replied, "They'll notice the next time out of state relatives call them. They'll notice the wrong names on their cell phones and their Myspace accounts, those are on computers that are far away. They'll notice when their parents do their taxes."
"Taxes?" asked Karyn.
"Yeah," said Jessica. "That's another computer problem. The government has computers with their names in it and these computers are outside the wish range just like Myspace is. We're gonna have the same problems, but at least we can wish our way out of bad situations."
"Jon..." said Karyn, "you mean that you're stuck as Julie and Jessica only because of a stupid wish about names and nothing else? There's got to be something you can do. How about becoming one boy named Julia Jessica? Hmm, no, that's not such a good idea...."
