"Tell me about the person who bore this clothing!" demanded Jasmine as she handed the cloth to the Wizard.
"Oh, half a tick deery. Let's give it a go." Replied the Wizard as he put the cloth over a crystal ball.
"Deeds of light, by black of night, from who did this clothing take flight?" intoned the Wizard and then he gazed deeply into the ball. After a few minutes tears began down the Wizards face.
"What what what is it you see old man?" demanded Jasmine
"We do not exist. We do not exist." Said the Wizard shaking his head.
"Tell me true, what did you see!" demanded Jasmine as taking the Wizard by the shoulders.
"Blimey, you don't get it love. We don't exist!!" was his empathic reply.
"You are crazy! Explain this, Wizard!" she said while shaking him.
He broke free of her grasp and held his hands up to signify to leave him alone. "We do not exist. We are not real. You and me are just creatures made from magic. It is the Sultan and his wife to be that are real. We have been created via magic. There is a stone. A stone of magic. The wielder of this stone has created this world. It will cease to exist in seven days." He said solemnly.
"I am flesh and blood! I feel. I am real!" replied Jasmine.
"NO! The power of the stone is beyond belief. There was a wish to live out a fantasy. That wish via the stone created our world. A world of history. A world of people. A world without future. It all ends in seven days. Then our very world will disappear." Said the Wizard.
"No this can't be true? Who is the wielder of the stone? What if we find the stone and wish for the world to continue?" asked a now concerned Jasmine.
"The stone was wielded by the Sultan, when he was a woman in another world. The stone now rests in the Sultan's chamber. As to our wishing with the stone? That'd just be ducky love, but no can do. We are creatures created by the stone. Either the Sultan or his wife to be must wish for us to continue." Said a disheartened Wizard.
"Wait, woman? Explain how the Sultan, my lover for these several years was a woman? " asked Jasmine.
"To us years and centuries in our land. To the Sultan a reality of a wish not four hours old. The stone was in her hands in another world, as a joke she wished her male friend to be in our world as a harem girl and miswording of the wish created her as our male Sultan and your husband of many years."
"You are confusing me. He is the Sultan is he not?" asked Jasmine.
"Of course and for many of our years." Replied the Wizard
"Then what of this NEW wife?" asked Jasmine, her anger returning.
"The wife is here as she is. They are destined for the altar, perhaps. The crystal was not clear on this. What is clear is that without a wish from the Sultan, or the new wife, to remain, our world ends when they leave. There is more though. The Sultan is unaware of his past. He knows only that he is the Sultan. The girl knows exactly what has happened and has a limited ability to see the further, as it is her fantasy from times before that is being fulfilled."
"If our world is to remain then the Sultan or the girl must make a wish? Hmm the right wish and not only does the world remain, but I am #1 wife forever ." Said Jasmine more to herself than the Wizard.
"Where's the stone?" asked Jasmine.
"It resides in the Sultan's chamber, but it will do you no good, it is powerless in our hands." Replied a dejected Wizard.
"We will see wizard. We will see."
