Jane and Jon went to the front door and Jane let in Karyn, who looked just as she always had (complete with wish-induced breasts and hair).
"Come on in," said Jane. "I want you to meet Jon."
"Jon?" said Karyn, looking at the boy who greatly resembled her friend. "Who are... wait, I get it. You made a wish that you'd have a guy twin."
"That's not it!" said Jon. "It's more complicated than that. Karyn, could you please listen for a minute?"
"I think he's telling the truth," said Jane.
"Okay," replied Karyn. They went into the living room to sit down.
"Karyn," said Jon. "You don't remember me, but we used to be friends since we were kids. Then I got this magic stone...."
"That can't be right," said Karyn. "Jane got the magic stone."
"As I was saying, I got a magic stone from my grandfather, and because of a wish problem, I ended up travelling in time to my conception. Just being there changed things so that Jane was born instead of me. Jane didn't travel in time herself, so when I came back, there were two of us."
"Really?" asked Karyn.
"Yes, really!"
"So I'm supposed to know you? And I only don't because you changed the past?"
"Well, er, yeah. I mean, we weren't really dating, but..." Jon shook Karyn's hand. "It's nice to meet you. But it's strange meeting you again when we knew each other for a long time..."
"This is sort of weird," said Karyn. "I suppose wishing stones make things weird like that. So Jon, how long are you going to be here?"
"How long? Karyn, I came from here!"
"But nobody knows you. They all know Jane."
"Hmm," said Jane. "Maybe we can..."
