Karyn forgot what she was about to think. Oh, that's right, they were on the way to Jon's... wait a minute. Jon was there on her right, and there was nobody there.
"Jon, where did you go?" she yelled. She turned to look around herself for Jon and then stopped dead. Standing to her left was a duplicate of herself.
"Whoa," said the duplicate. "Jon, I don't know how your mind is now, but you look exactly like me..."
"No!" replied Karyn, if indeed this was Karyn. "I'm not Jon. I'm Karyn! You must be Jon... and how did I get over here? In these clothes? They're Jon's, they don't fit me. They're too baggy. Jon's wish to be more like me must have made me get his clothes..."
"Please," said the other Karyn. "You're not me. You're Jon. The changes went on until you're exactly like me, so you even think you're me. That's why you're standing where Jon was standing, and that's why you're wearing Jon's clothes."
"I'm not Jon! I'm you, or you're me!"
"Jon, you just think you're me. Remember, that's how the wish goes? The real me got the rock from Allan." She held it up. "I'm the real Karyn."
"I'm just the same as you," replied "Karyn".
"We've got to do something," said the real Karyn.
"If you're going to do something, change yourself into Jon."
"I can't do that. I'd end up being Jon with long hair and big breasts. Look, Jon, or Karyn if you want to call yourself by that name, we need to stop arguing. If you're Jon, we're friends, and if you're me, we really should be able to get along, right?"
"I suppose," replied the other Karyn. "But, what can we do? I don't want to change into Jon even if what you're saying is true."
"We have to do something. People remember Jon. They don't remember two of me. The wish was for Jon to transform, not for Jon to have been like me all along. If nobody remembered, then Allan wouldn't have noticed you losing weight, neither would anyone else. Look, how about this, why don't we..."
