After this, things went on for several months.
Chris's mother was very apologetic, though she didn't do a very good job of hiding how much she loved doing mother-daughter things, like shopping for clothes. Chris in turn couldn't quite bring herself to admit that she liked it too. She wanted to hold onto some bit of her masculinity.

"Ok, let's do this thing, we only have 3 minutes left," Chris said. "I wish that for the next 1 minute, the rate at which my body changes to match Karyn's would speed up to nearly instant, and then for the next 3 days after that, it will change to a rate of 1% every 100 trillion years."
After the 3 minutes were up, now Chris was the one with something extra and Karyn was back to normal. Normal except for the fact that she was still dead exhausted to the point where she couldn't stand to move an inch, and lay slack on the bed. "Now. Let's find out which way is better," Chris said.
"Oh no!" gasped Karyn.
Chris didn't quite send Karyn to heaven that afternoon. Just almost. But at the end, they were both sure of one thing. It was a lot better to be the girl.
After some soul searching and looking in the mirror for a long time, Chris decided it had been too long, she'd have never asked for it in the first place, but in the few months she has been stuck like this, she had become happy with herself that way.
