As soon as they reached Jon's house, they went upstairs and locked the door.
"Alright, Jon," began Karyn. "We need to go over the wishes that have been made so we can find a loop hole."
"Okay." Jon held up the rock. "I wish that we could hear the wishes that have been made affecting the two of us."
The stone began to glow, and then they both heard several people speaking.
"God, I wish I had long blond hair and big boobs and maybe then I'd get some of the attention." Karyn blushed at her foolishly worded statement.
Then came Jon's mom. "I wish my son could be little more like her."
"I wish that you'd become more like Karyn."
"I wish I knew when this would stop!" Jon's voice spoke up, followed shortly by Allan saying, "Changes? Well, whatever they are, I just wish they'd keep on going."
And then finally, Jon heard his last wish repeated. "Okay. Any ideas for a loophole?"
Karyn scratched her head. "Well, how about we wish that you look like your twin brother would look?"
Jon shook his head. "We can't do anything that would make me look less like you than I already do, and we can't make a wish that would have the wishes stop, right?"
"I guess," replied Karyn. "But we know you don't want to become me, and I don't want a twin, so we have to do something about that." She paused, thinking, and then her face lit up. "Well, for starters, let's wish that your mind and personality can't be changed through the stone from what it is now! That way, at least you'll still be yourself inside for sure. We've always had similar personalities, and given the minor bits that have changed already, maybe we can get around it that way."
Jon frowned. "What do you mean, the minor bits that have already changed? And what about the keep going part?"
Karyn looked at him. "Do you normally bite your nails when you're nervous? I've never seen you twirl your hair around your fingers like that, either, until the ride here. And I've seen a few other things earlier." She paused. "While I'm pretty sure your mom meant your personality, the way she worded it would make it easy to work around."
Jon agreed, and held the rock again. "I wish that the stone can't change my mind or personality from what it is now." The stone glowed, and Jon exhaled a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. "Whew, it worked. That's one problem sort of fixed."
